In 2017 we have a range of special activities planned for you to enjoy.
Rangers Guided Walk - Wednesdays (April to July)
Each Wednesday afternoon the Rangers will lead a guided walk through the grounds and gardens of Balmoral, passing by some of the monuments and cairns. Your guide will explain about the history of Balmoral as well as the woodland, wildlife, flora and fauna.
The walk lasts approximately two hours and covers between two and three miles. There is no charge for the guided tour - however the Estate admission fee must be paid.
Easter Family Fun - Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th April
We have an Easter egg hunt on all days over Easter. At the weekend you can try your hand at ceramic painting. *
RunBalmoral - Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd April
Plans will soon get underway for the RunBalmoral 2017 Weekend, which will be held Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd April. We hope to see you then and online entries will be launched later in the year on the RunBalmoral website. Book your place as soon as possible as the races often reach capacity before the official cut-off date.
Mini Farmers Market -
Sunday 14th May
The Ballater Farmers market comes to Balmoral. A chance to buy some fresh local produce.
Ballater Pipe Band - Saturday 27th May & Saturday 10th June
The Ballater Pipe Band play in front of the Castle 11am and 12noon. A spectacle not to be missed!

Balmoral Challenge for Armed Forces Day - 24th June 2017
Her Majesty The Queen has given permission for a unique new walking challenge at Balmoral Castle to mark Armed Forces Day in June 2017.
The Balmoral Challenge is an unmissable, new event for your team of four to take on one of three physically and mentally challenging routes on the stunning Balmoral Estate on 24 June 2017 – Armed Forces Day.
Garden Tours -
Saturday 1st July
Take a guided tour of the gardens at Balmoral by one of the gardening team. Tours at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.
Guided Cairns History Walk -
Sunday 9th July
Explore some of the hidden statues, monuments and cairns on the estate with our knowledgeable guide. 2pm- booking advisable. 2 ½ hours of gentle walking.
Birds of Prey -
Saturday 15th July
Come see some wonderful birds of prey up close and personal! 11am until 4pm.
Classic Transport -
Saturday 22nd July
Enjoy classic cars in front of the Castle and take a ride on the oldest steam
Lorry in the world. *
Cairngorms Ceilidh Trail -
Tuesday 25th July
Enjoy young musicians playing traditional ceilidh music in the grounds of Balmoral.
