Guided Woodland Walk

Join one of our Rangers on a two hour guided woodland walk, with an insight to the wildlife, management, conservation projects and history of the estate.

This is a two hour walk winding 150m up Craig Gowan Hill with excellent views of Balmoral Castle and the Dee Valley, to reward your efforts getting to the top!

We visit some of the cairns built by Queen Victoria, then the walk meanders down through the woods to the River Dee which we follow back to the Castle.

Parts of the walk are very steep and rough in places, both on ascent and decent, and can be muddy in wet weather. Sturdy footwear is highly recommended.
