We’re Good To Go Certificate

Balmoral has achieved the ‘We’re Good To Go’ accolade, which demonstrates that we are adhering to the new Government and public health guidance, have carried out a COVID-19 risk assessment and the required processes in place.

Cairns Walk

The Balmoral Cairns Walk and the walk to Albert’s Pyramid Walk are currently available and parking is available in the car park next to the A93 at Crathie.

Please be aware that due to the level of use the condition of these paths has deteriorated. Some sections of path are now very muddy and either wellingtons or waterproof boots and gaiters are recommended.

Spittal of Muick / Mountain Bothies

The car park at Loch Muick is open but exceptionally busy. However the toilets and Visitor Centre will be closed until further notice.

We would also advise that both the Gelder Shiel and Glas Allt Shiel bothies are closed until further notice.

RunBalmoral

Unfortunately RunBalmoral has been postponed and entrants have been contacted to see if they wish to defer their race entry to 2022 or take a refund.

In 2022 RunBalmoral will be held on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th April.

Visit www.runbalmoral.com to view full details and to enter online.

COVID-19 Guidelines

We would like to reassure our visitors that we are adhering to the guidelines issued by the Scottish Government, Health Protection Scotland and the Scottish National Health Service regarding coronavirus.

The health of our staff and visitors is our main priority, and we have therefore put in place the following precautionary measures:

  • In addition to the existing hand washing facilities we will be supplying hand sanitiser in key locations.
  • We have introduced additional cleaning to our already comprehensive routines, with particular focus on key areas such as door handles, hand rails, toilets, etc.
  • All our staff are receiving regular guidance and updates on how to prevent COVID-19 in the workplace.
  • In line with Government guidance, if you have a high temperature, or new continuous cough, please postpone your visit.
  • If you develop coronavirus symptoms you should self-isolate and book a test if you
  • Please also ensure that you practice good hand hygiene, following guidelines on how to avoid the virus, details of which can be found here on the NHS Scotland website.

We will continue to monitor this developing situation and share updates as soon as they are available.
