This is the largest cairn, erected by Queen Victoria in memory of her husband, Prince Albert, following his death.

Please note that we will be closing the paths up to Prince Albert’s Pyramid on 21,22 & 23 October for essential maintenance work.

Paths to the other cairns located on Craig Gowan Hill will remain open. Thank you very much for your patience whilst we undertake this essential conservation work on the paths around the cairn. Balmoral Ranger Service.
