The grounds, gardens and exhibitions at Balmoral are currently closed to the Public. However our Main Gate Gift Shop and Terrace Cafe will be open daily from 1000 until 1600 during August and September.

Walks at Balmoral

The Cairns Walk and Prince Albert’s Pyramid Walk.

Explore the historical cairns erected by the Royal Family on the Balmoral Estate, with views over Deeside and Balmoral Castle itself.

Parking is located in the car parks, next to the A93 and charges apply.

The Balmoral Cairns Walks

During August and September the cairns walk is unavailable, but it is possible to access the Prince Albert Pyramid Walk.

This is the largest cairn, erected by Queen Victoria in memory of her husband, Prince Albert, following his death.

Parking for the Pyramid Walk is located in the car parks, next to the A93 and charges apply.
