We are pleased to advise to confirm that the grounds, gardens, exhibitions, gift shops and restaurant are open to the Public on a daily basis from Monday 26th April until Monday 2nd August. Opening times are from 10.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m. however please note that the last recommended admission is at 4.00 p.m.

Tickets will be released in line with the relaxation of Government restrictions so please check back later for availability for later in the season.
Enjoy a relaxing visit of the grounds, exhibitions and Ballroom at Balmoral with our audio tour, which is available in English with Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish translations.
All visitors will need to register with track and trace on arrival and are asked to adhere to social distancing guidance.
Face masks must be worn in indoor spaces.
The audio tour lasts approximately one hour and a quarter and guides you around the grounds and gardens. The highlight of the visit is the Ballroom, which is the only room open to visitors in the Castle. The objects in the Ballroom are all brought from within the Castle for display, these are all objects that belong to the Royal Family and normally live on a wall or shelf or cupboard in one of the private rooms. Please note that the Ballroom is the only room that is open to visitors within the Castle as the other areas are Her Majesty’s private residence.
After your tour you can visit our new Mews Gift Shop, where you will find a wide range of gifts, both Scottish and Royal. You can also purchase snack refreshments from the Coffee Pod at the Main Gates or the new servery in the Pipers Hall.
We are also pleased to announce that our Balmoral Restaurant will offer the following experiences until Monday 2nd August:-
Morning Coffee and Cake Experience – this must be booked in advance and includes your admission ticket together with tea or coffee and some delicious cake, which you can enjoy in the relaxed restaurant setting. This will be served daily from 1000 to 1130.
Adult admission with coffee and cake - £22.00
Lunch will be served from 1200 until 1400 and the menu will celebrate a wonderful range of Scottish produce.

Afternoon Tea Experience – this must be booked in advance and includes your admission ticket together with tea or coffee with a selection of sandwiches, scones and cake, which you can enjoy in the relaxed restaurant setting. This will be served daily from 1430 until 1630.
Adult admission with afternoon tea - £35.00
We also offer the Balmoral Expedition, which is a wonderful experience for you to enjoy as a social household bubble (maximum of four people).
The Balmoral Expedition includes a two hour Landrover tour on the Estate. During the day you can also enjoy the Balmoral audio tour, which guides you through the grounds, gardens and exhibitions before joining us in the restaurant for a delicious afternoon tea. You will also have an opportunity to browse our new Mews Shop to purchase a gift to remind you of your visit to Balmoral.
Expedition tour for up to four people - £400
General admission charges during 2021 will be as follows:-
Adults - £15.00
Children (5 to 16 years) - £6.00
Booking fee applied to online bookings.
For an additional charge of £10 per person you can upgrade your ticket to last the week - this will allow you to return to the Estate as often as you wish during your stay. This upgrade is available from the Admissions Desk on the day of initial entry - please present your booking confirmation to the staff on duty and they will be able to help you.
Admission charges include access to the formal and vegetable gardens, the exhibitions in the stable area and largest room in the Castle, the Ballroom.
The admission charges include the audio handset tour, which is available in English together with Dutch, French, German, Italian and Spanish translations. The audio tour is only available for admissions before 4.00 p.m.
Please note that all other rooms within the Castle are not available to the public as these are Her Majesty The Queen's private rooms.
