Opening Times
The grounds at Balmoral will be open to the Public on specific dates during November and December. Please see below for opening dates.
During this time you will be able to enjoy a relaxed walk in the grounds, view the exterior of the Castle and also have an opportunity to visit the Mews Gift Shop and the Restaurant.
As admission is free of charge over the winter opening period there is no requirement to book tickets to visit. Please note that there is no access to the Castle during this time and the audio tour / mobility scooters are not available.
The grounds and gardens at Balmoral also make for the perfect dog walking trails for you and your pup. We kindly request that dogs are kept on a lead during your adventures and that you leave the gardens clean for other visitors to enjoy.
The grounds, Mews Gift Shop and the Restaurant will be open from 1000 until 1600 on the following dates only:-

Photography and filming for commercial use is not permitted on Balmoral Estate unless permission is given from management team.
Please note the flying of drones, or any other aerial device, within one kilometre of Balmoral Castle is not permitted at any time of the year.
Dogs are permitted in all outdoor areas and should be kept on a lead at all times.
Assistance dogs are allowed in all areas.
We ask that you clean up after your pet and dispose of in bins provided.
There are CCTV cameras around Balmoral, gallery, shop and restaurant which have been installed for the purpose of the prevention and detection of crime. These may collect images of members the general public. The footage may be shared with the police when they are investigating an incident. The footage is kept securely and access to the images is strictly limited. The footage is normally retained for 30 days and then recorded over.
Please be aware not all paths are maintained during winter months. Although we endeavour to clear as many pathways as possible, sometimes pathways may be icy under foot. Please be cautious with your footing. Balmoral Estate is not accountable for any accidents during this time.
If a person has an accident whilst visiting one of our sites, we may ask them to complete an Accident Form on which we ask for their name, contact details, and the nature of their injury. We are obliged to do this under Health and Safety Regulations. Depending on the nature of the accident, we may also have to report it to Government regulators. We will retain personal information securely in locked facilities for six years in order to comply with relevant legislation.
On occasions, there may be a photographer at an event. We would always ask your permission before taking any photograph which included your image. We may ask you to sign a model release form to confirm your consent in such cases.
