From summer 2024, we began welcoming visitors into our newly refurbished restaurant, an airy and elegant setting to enjoy a sit-down meal during your visit to Balmoral.
Each dish celebrates the fresh flavours of the Estate’s natural larder, ensuring that your meal is as sustainable as it is delicious.
Local Seasonal Dining with produce sourced from the Balmoral Castle Gardens
On our daily menu, you can expect delights such as locally sourced Balmoral Estate venison burgers and Menzies of Braemar beef burgers, traditional Scottish Cullen skink, handmade pies, and seasonal soups.
Our menu is crafted using only the finest ingredients, harvested directly from the Balmoral Estate by our expert gardeners or selected from trusted local suppliers.
Seasonal highlights include cakes and sandwiches that showcase the best of what is available throughout the year. Options for vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and dairy-free diners are also available. Please see the seasonal menu for more details.
Afternoon Tea experiences
Join us throughout the year for unique dining experiences, including our decadent Afternoon Tea, where you can indulge in a selection of delicate sandwiches made from Highland beef, Balmoral game, salmon, and local eggs, as well as traditional freshly baked scones, pastries, and macarons.
This delectable fare is served in a setting steeped in royal history, on bone china that is an exact replica of King Charles’s favourite setting from inside Balmoral Castle.
Join us for a Sunday Roast
During the winter months, our Sunday Roasts offer the perfect cosy night out with friends and family, with a wide array of seasonal veggies and locally sourced meats gracing the menu.
Dining on-the-go
Prefer to take your meal to enjoy around the Estate? Visit our takeaway hatch, where you can choose from a selection of freshly prepared food and beverages, as well as seasonal highlights like ice cream and hot chocolate. Perfect for sitting down with at our dog-friendly outdoor seating area for fine weather days or enjoying while exploring the estate’s stunning scenery.
